Once
you
have
decided
to
bring
your
Unit
to
Wente,
the
next
step
is
to
decide
when
to
come
and
which
campsite
to
stay
in.
Each
campsite
has
its
high
and
low
points.
Sunrise
Ridge
is
the
farthest
away,
but
it
has
its
own
parking
lot.
Sailor’s
Rest
is
centrally
located,
but
has
the
noise
of
the
pedestrian
traffic
and
waterfront
in
front
of
it.
You
should
look
at
the Campsite pages to help decide on the site with the best size and location for you.
After
you
have
an
idea
of
when
and
where
you
want
to
stay,
call
the
Council
Office
at
(510)
577-9000
and
tell
them
you
want
to
sign
up
for
camp;
they
will
transfer
you
to
the
correct
person.
Tell
them
when
and
where
you
would
like
to
stay,
and
they
will
check
and
see
what
is
open.
Some
sites
fill
up
fast
because
it
is
first
come
first
serve
with
priority
going
to
the
Unit
that
stayed
there
the
previous
year.
If
a
site
you
want
is
open,
you
can
tell
them
you
want
it;
they
will
guide
you
through
the
rest
of
the
process.
If
not
you
can
ask them what is open, bring it back to your Unit to decide, and then call back.
Provisional Campers:
Provisional
camping
is
a
regular
summer
camping
experience
for
individual
Scouts
who
are
unable
to
attend
camp
with
their
own
Troop,
or
would
like
to
spend
an
extra
week
at
camp.
Get
the
Provisional
Camper
application
here.
Every
effort
will
be
made
to
match
each
Provisional
Scout
with
a
Troop
prior
to
their
arrival
in
camp.
It
is
recommended
that
these
Scouts
contact
the
unit
and
try
to
visit
at
least
one
Troop
meeting
before
going
to
camp
to
familiarize
themselves
with
the
Scouts
and
the
leaders.
Contact
the
GGAC
Camping
Department
for
more
information.
The
Scout's
family
or
Troop
is
responsible
for transportation to and from camp.
